Sennheiser's MOMENTUM 5 Just Got Bronze and Lavender, Is the 57-Hour Headphone Worth It?
Florence Trading editorial teamShare
The Sennheiser MOMENTUM 5 Wireless only launched in June, and Sennheiser has already refreshed it. These premium noise cancelling headphones now come in Bronze and Lavender, joining the original Black, White and Denim for five colours in total. In-depth reviews are arriving too, with TechCrunch publishing its verdict on 27 September. Here is what is new, what reviewers found and whether the MOMENTUM 5 belongs on your shortlist if you are buying wireless headphones in the UAE.
Sennheiser MOMENTUM 5 New Colours: Bronze and Lavender
The new finishes use a two-tone design. The outer shell comes in Bronze or Lavender, while the headband cushion and earcups are light brown. Each colour ships with a matching carry case. Only the look changes. The hardware is the same as the MOMENTUM 5 Sennheiser announced on 26 May 2026 and started selling on 16 June, and the price is unchanged at roughly US$400 on Sennheiser's own store.
57-Hour Battery Life With ANC On
Battery life is the stand-out feature. Sennheiser rates the MOMENTUM 5 at up to 57 hours with active noise cancellation switched on. TechCrunch notes that is about twice the Sony WH-1000XM6 and nearly three times the AirPods Max 2. A 10-minute quick charge gives around 7 hours of playback, and a full charge takes about two hours.
The battery is also replaceable, which is rare in this class. The 700 mAh cell is user-swappable with a Phillips-head screwdriver in a few minutes, so a worn-out battery no longer means replacing the whole headset. That matters if you plan to keep premium headphones for years.
Eight-Microphone Noise Cancelling and Sound Features
Sennheiser doubled the microphone count to eight, four per earcup, covering noise cancelling, transparency mode and call pickup. The company says the ANC is up to three times more effective than the previous generation at cutting voices and nearby chatter, the noise of open-plan offices, cafés and airport lounges. TechCrunch agreed for voices but found it less dominant against low engine rumble.
The headphones use 42mm drivers and support aptX Lossless through Snapdragon Sound. They run Bluetooth 5.4, with Bluetooth 6.0 readiness promised in a future firmware update, and you can also connect by 3.5mm cable or USB-C. The Smart Control Plus app adds an 8-band EQ, adjustable ANC levels, an anti-wind mode and Sound Personalization, and Dolby Atmos with head tracking is supported.
What Reviewers Did Not Love
There are trade-offs. TechCrunch found the MOMENTUM 5 heavier than Sony's WH-1000XM6 and not quite as comfortable as the best Sony or Apple models over long sessions, with materials that feel less premium than some rivals. The overall verdict was still positive: great sound, excellent battery life and only minor compromises for the price.
Are the MOMENTUM 5 Worth Buying in the UAE?
For frequent flyers based in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, battery life is the deciding factor. At 57 hours, a Dubai to London round trip plus a week of commuting on a single charge is realistic. Heat and humidity are also hard on lithium cells over time, so a battery you can swap yourself makes a premium pair a safer long-term purchase. The Bronze and Lavender finishes give buyers a warmer alternative to the usual black or silver.
